Claude Code for Filmmakers

Set up first. The course is worth more afterwards.

Install Claude Code, read the one page that lists what you are handing over, then drag one file in. Then start the course with a studio already running on your own machine.

The Setup

Everything is inside the file. Nothing is downloaded while it runs, nothing is sent anywhere, and nothing is ever deleted. The uninstaller only renames. When it finishes it tests its own guardrails in front of you rather than telling you they are there.

This is not the course. It is Anthropic's own free app, and it is what runs the setup for you. If you already have Claude on your computer, skip this and go to step 2. Otherwise: download, double-click, sign in, open the Code tab, then come back here.

Then read what it is allowed to touch. One page, plain English, every permission the setup hands over and every one it refuses. It takes two minutes and it is the only reading this setup asks of you.

Open Claude, go to the Code tab, paste this in, and press return. That is the installation. You do not need to download anything, unzip anything, or open Terminal.

Then leave it alone. It fetches the tested installer, installs anything this Mac is missing, builds your studio, sets up your private backup, interviews you about your work, and opens your terminal for you. Two moments need you and only two — a macOS window asking to install Apple’s developer tools, and GitHub showing you an eight-character code.

Unzip it, drag the START-HERE file into Claude, press return. It builds your studio, then proves its own guardrails in front of you. You never open Terminal.
